Free Developer Tools

Developer tools format and minify HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, test a regular expression, encode and decode a URL component, and hash a string. They run in the browser. Pasted code is not sent to a Vertex server.

The regex tester uses JavaScript regular expressions. A pattern that works here can still fail in Python, PCRE, or .NET. URL encoding is for one component of an address, once. Encoding the whole URL, or encoding it twice, is a different bug, and the guide linked from the tool explains that boundary.

Beautify when you need to read a payload. Minify only when you already have the original source saved somewhere else. A hash from this page is a checksum you can compare, not a password store and not encryption. Limits and the exact library are named on each tool page. Text tools such as JSON and Base64 sit in the text category, not here.

  • Regex Tester

Regex tester for JavaScript RegExp, with flags and match indexes. Other engines can differ.

  • URL Encoder

URL encoder using encodeURIComponent for query values. Decoding is a separate page.

  • Hash Generator

Hash generator for MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512 hex digests. Input stays in the page.

  • JS Beautifier

JS beautifier that reindents JavaScript with js-beautify. It does not transpile or bundle.

About Developer Tools

Developer tools streamline daily coding workflows — from formatting messy HTML and beautifying minified JavaScript to testing regular expressions and generating cryptographic hashes. Our developer toolkit runs entirely client-side for maximum privacy and speed. Paste code, get formatted output, copy results, and move on. No IDE plugins to install, no CLI tools to configure. Perfect for quick fixes during code reviews, debugging API payloads, or preparing code snippets for documentation.

Common Use Cases

How people use these tools in everyday work and personal projects.

Code Review & Debugging

Format minified JS/CSS for readability, validate regex patterns, and decode URL-encoded query strings.

Documentation

Beautify code snippets before adding them to README files, wikis, and technical blog posts.

Security & Integrity

Generate MD5, SHA-256, and SHA-512 hashes to verify file integrity and compare checksums.

Web Development

Format HTML for accessibility audits, minify assets for production, and encode URLs for API requests.

Why Choose Vertex Solutions?

Client-Side Processing

Source code you paste is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers for tool processing. Useful for proprietary or sensitive snippets.

Syntax-Aware Formatting

Proper indentation and line breaks make unreadable code instantly comprehensible.

Always Available

Access tools from any machine without IDE setup — useful on shared or restricted environments.

Developer Tools Tips

  • Minify CSS and JS only for production — keep readable source in development.
  • Test regex patterns with edge cases before deploying to production code.
  • Use SHA-256 instead of MD5 for any security-related checksums.
  • URL-encode query parameters that contain special characters or spaces.

Developer Tools FAQ

Answers to the most common questions about our tools in this category.

No. All developer tools process code locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your source code is not uploaded to our servers for tool processing.

They are ideal for quick one-off formatting. For project-wide consistency, IDE formatters with team configs are recommended.

Our hash generator supports MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512. Use SHA-256 or higher for security-sensitive applications.

Yes. Common flags (global, case-insensitive, multiline, dotall) are supported with live match highlighting.
